Oppenheimer film
Saw last night. Superb film. Refreshing to watch a film without CGI for one thing. Murphy gives a stunning performance.

His face disturbs me. It's all knobbly, like a Jerusalem artichoke.

Going to the IMAX for it next week. Really looking forward to it actually. Better get the snacks in for a three hour marathon though!

Re: Oppenheimer film
Really enjoyed it - thought it could've been 30-45 mins shorter though

No CGI? So did they set off a real bomb then?

Re: Oppenheimer film
They are both pretty distinctive facially, to be fair.

What's wrong with the film thread.

I'm glad they made a barbie film about a product first launched in Japan.

Whereas oppenheimer....

Re: Oppenheimer film
It really is! Very much looking forward to seeing it.

But love that they've actually thought about it and done something innovative and imaginative rather than just calling in the graphic designers.Far too many films that are almost fuliy greenscreen these days. I loved Moon from about 15 years ago because they used models for all the vehicles and exterior shots.

Do they delve into the accusations that Oppenheimer was a commie?

Yes, that plays quite a big part throughout the film.

I want to go see it in 70mm IMAX but every showing sold out since it opened.

Re: Oppenheimer film
Saw it a few days ago - found it long and dull. Maybe I was in the wrong mood for it. Cinematography was really impressive, but I just couldn't get into it.

Maybe I'll watch again at some point and have a different view.

Re: Oppenheimer film
Green screens have been replaced by Virtual Production screens , they have them at Leavesden studio and are mental you can be anywhere and it looks so good plus dont need the green screen anymore . Its basically a huge Gamers screen now .

It's very long with no action but didn't get bored with it at any stage

Far Cough 9:54 Fri Jul 28
Re: Oppenheimer film
Of course there's no action, these are largely scientists and scientists are methodical by nature, these aren't a bunch of AD&HD kids let loose in a sweet factory.
